This collection of annotated bibliographies fills a gap in the collection-development literature for libraries in community colleges and vocational schools. Developed by the Community and Junior College Library Section of ALA's Association of College and Research Libraries, it covers 58.
The guidelines presented here are applicable to programs in vocational-technical schools at all levels, community and junior colleges, and other postsecondary institutions. They may be of use in evaluating existing programs or in establishing new programs. These public schools work closely with interested industries and trades in establishing curricula and in guidance programs.
The cooperative training technique, in which students work part-time in the job for which they are preparing, is a common feature of these schools.
